I am running for Hopewell Borough Council as an independent because I believe the best decisions are made when the community is informed, engaged, and respected.
I have been a proud New Jersey resident since 1973. I grew up in South Orange in a close-knit family as the youngest of eight children. My family's roots in New Jersey run deep. Both of my parents were born and raised in Bloomfield NJ, where they spent most of their lives. They instilled in all of us the values of hard work, integrity, service, kindness, and respect for others.
I am a proud graduate of Seton Hall University, continuing a family tradition. My father graduated from Seton Hall in 1951, and my sister Colleen also earned her degree there in 1984. Seton Hall has always been an important part of our family's story.
My professional career has taken me through healthcare, telecommunications, hospitality, nonprofit leadership, and consulting. Fresh out of college, I began my career in the healthcare industry before joining AT&T, where I spent ten years managing national, global, and signature accounts before serving as Director of National Accounts. From there, I had the opportunity to help build sales organizations for T-Mobile before returning to one of my greatest passions—the hospitality industry. I served in executive leadership positions with Oakwood Worldwide and later BridgeStreet Global Hospitality, working with organizations and clients around the world.
One of the most meaningful chapters of my career was serving as Vice President of Programs and Services for Learning Ally, formerly Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic. There, I helped expand educational opportunities for individuals with learning differences and those who are visually impaired by helping launch innovative synthetic voice technology while continuing to support professionally narrated educational content. I had the privilege of working with educators, legislators, and community leaders at both the state and federal levels to improve educational access for students of all ages, including those pursuing higher education.
In 2013, I founded Revalant Advisors, a management consulting firm dedicated to helping small and mid-sized organizations improve strategy, sales, leadership, and operational performance. Today, I advising organizations throughout the United States while also working with global telecommunications companies.
As proud as I am of my professional career, my greatest accomplishment has always been my family. My son, Scott, attended The Chapin School in Princeton before graduating from The Peddie School and George Washington University. Today he lives and works in Manhattan.
My daughter, Brooke, is a proud graduate of Hopewell Valley Central High School, where she earned three varsity letters as the starting goalkeeper for the girls' lacrosse team. She is currently pursuing her college education while continuing to grow into an exceptional young woman.
Following my divorce in 2013, I found more than just a place to live in Hopewell—I found home.
I first rented an apartment in the Borough and, over time, was fortunate enough to purchase the very two-family home where I had lived. Later, I also purchased the historic Art Sparks building on Railroad Place, allowing me to invest even further in the community that had welcomed me.
Hopewell is unlike any place I have ever lived. The kindness of its residents, its rich history, its walkable downtown, and its extraordinary sense of community are what inspired me to put down permanent roots here. I intend to spend the rest of my life in Hopewell, and one day I hope to be buried on the hill overlooking the town I have come to love. I have deeper roots in Hopewell than in any other community I have ever lived in, and I genuinely feel at home here.
Over the years, I have quietly supported numerous local organizations, events, and community initiatives. I have always believed that everyone has a role to play in making a community stronger. When I could volunteer my time, I did. When I couldn't, I was proud to support worthwhile causes financially. Public service has never required holding elected office.
Over the past several years, however, I have become increasingly involved in following Borough government and attending Council meetings. Like many residents, I began asking questions about how major decisions were being made and whether the community had truly been given meaningful opportunities to participate in those discussions.
I never wanted to become a politician. In fact, I never imagined I would run for public office.
But after watching a series of significant decisions unfold with what I believe was insufficient transparency, communication, and community engagement, I reached a point where I could no longer simply ask why someone wasn't stepping forward. I decided that someone should be me.
I am running because I believe Hopewell deserves a Council that listens first, communicates openly, carefully evaluates every major decision, and actively seeks input from the people it represents.
I believe in responsible redevelopment that preserves the unique character of Hopewell while meeting our obligations for affordable housing. I support affordable housing that is thoughtfully planned, environmentally responsible, and appropriate for our community.
I believe environmental stewardship must be central to every major development decision, particularly given the flooding challenges we already face and the long-term impact additional development can have on our neighborhoods, infrastructure, and quality of life.
I believe our local businesses deserve a stronger voice in shaping the future of the Borough.
I believe our advisory committees should be more active, more transparent, and more accountable.
I believe residents deserve a Borough website that is modern, informative, easy to navigate, and designed to serve the people who use it.
I believe every taxpayer dollar deserves careful oversight and responsible stewardship.
I have raised thoughtful questions about several significant Borough initiatives, including the long-term financial implications of Payment In Lieu Of Taxes (PILOT) agreements, infrastructure planning, management of our water system, major capital expenditures, and the decision-making process surrounding Hopewell 57. Those questions are not about revisiting the past. They are about ensuring that future decisions are made with greater transparency, broader community participation, thorough due diligence, and a genuine commitment to listening before acting.
Most importantly, I believe public service begins with engagement & listening.
If I have the honor of serving on Borough Council, I will work every day to create a government that is more accessible, more collaborative, and more responsive to the people it serves.
I want more residents to become part of the conversation.
I want more voices to be heard.
I want people to know that their opinions matter before decisions are made—not after.
Hopewell has given me so much. This campaign is my opportunity to give something back.
My commitment is simple.
To put Hopewell first.
Not politics.
Not special interests.
Not predetermined outcomes.
Just thoughtful leadership, open communication, fiscal responsibility, environmental stewardship, and a deep commitment to protecting the extraordinary community that so many of us are proud to call home.
